The women's conference was a huge blessing. Over three thousand women attended. God is good! Each speaker had a unique way of sharing what the Lord needed me to hear. I went through so many tissues I had to use napkins at lunch. The lunch was so yummy, one of the best sandwiches ever. I am so thankful that I got to go with my sister Lisa. I'm also glad that she sat by me even though I was sick. At one point during one of the teachings I sneezed, but I tried to hold it in so that I didn't make a lot of noise, but I accidentally turned Lisa's way and scared her. Rightly so because I sounded like a seal barking. My voice sounded raspy. It still dose.
This conference focused on The Call Of God on Your life as a Christian. A few of the speakers gave the example of how our cell phones can become demanding, and yet how we rush to every call that comes in. But when God calls us we ignore His call. One of the speakers an Author and Missionary Carrie McDonnell shared a very sobering and powerful testimony about her experience as she was called by God to serve in Iraq. Her experience was incredible and it is a miracle she is still alive .Through her testimony the Lord showed me that I'm just a big whinny baby. Instead of praising Him through my trials I cry and blame everyone else for my problems, when the Lord is simply trying to teach me something by my trials. I also learned how important it is to answer God when He calls you to a devotional life with Him, preferably in the mornings. How can we get to know God if we never spend time in His Word or in prayer? Whelp I consider this weekend a fresh new start for me.
