Before you read this I'd like to say that because I added you as a contact whenever I post anything on our blog, you will be notified through your e-mail. Merry CHRISTmas!
Dear friends and family,
We pray that you are all well and in good health. This year we decided that it would be more meaningful to share what God has done in our family in the past year rather than send out a simple card with our signature on it.
Where do we start? How about with number four? If you don’t know already, we are expecting our fourth child to arrive in late February. His name will be Elias Elisha Thrasher meaning Jehovah is God.
Calvin is in Kun Fu San Soo and doing great. He is learning to respect his elders and how to defend himself. He has also joined the CVCA home school soccer team. He seems to enjoy it a lot. Calvin is doing excellent in his studies with an emphasis on history and a fascination with science. As you all know, we have a little theologian on our hands. His passion for God’s word only seems to grow as each year passes. He never ceases to amaze his Sunday school teachers as well as us.
As for little Ezekiel, kindergarten is a whole new world of learning.
Ezekiel loves it and would do dot-to-dot all day long if we let him. He can count to twenty, knows all of his sounds to the alphabet, and is starting to learn how to read. He knows how to write all of his letters and most of his numbers. Zeekie is excited about everything from being a big five year old, to cooking in the kitchen with mommy.
Trinity has a huge vocabulary and amazes us when she say’s her ABCs and tries to count to ten. She loves to sing, dance, scream, and laugh all day long and is extremely talkative and outgoing (except around other people). She adores puppy dogs, kittens, babies, and stuffed animals.
The Lord God has blessed our family so much. We are so happy to have a quiver full of them around the dinner table. We are excited to prepare them like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Christmas is going to be special this year because the kids are learning what it means to be a giver. We have never asked the kids to share a Christmas wish list before. But the other day we asked Ezekiel what he wanted for Christmas. His response blessed our hearts. “I want to give Jesus a birthday present!” I asked Calvin what he wanted and he had to really think of it. We are so glad that the kids are not whinning for material stuff. Our goal this Christmas is to teach them that Jesus GAVE his life as a sacrifice for them. They need to receive the free gift of salvation through Jesus.
May all of our friends and family remember the real reason for the season: That Christ a Savior was born, but also that he grew into a man, died on a cross for the world, was buried and rose from the dead so that we can all have a way to heaven. May we receive Him into our hearts and meditate on the JOY of his sacrificial love for the whole world and us.
