The Mission Of MotherHood.

This here is a small bible study that I did from the book I have been reading called, " The Mission Of MotherHood" By: Sally Clarkson. Touching Your Childs Heart For Eternity.

My answers accompanied with the dots

A song for the ascent to Jerusalem. A psalm of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds a house (Family or Home), the work of the builders is useless. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good.

  • According to this verse, the secret to the success of a Godly family is allowing the LORD to build it. If you do not, your human attempts to build a successful godly family will be in vain, and the plot of the devil to destroy it will not protect your family.
It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.

  • God’s views of children are precious and special. When God blesses us with children, it is considered a reward because it not only humbles us from selfish desires of our own flesh, but in return our children will go forth from us with the Gospel, and will, "Lord willing" be there to take care of us in our old age.
This verse is in sharp contrast with the prevailing view of children in our culture today.Children are often looked at as a financial burden, or a nuisance to the ambitions of a parent. Having more than two children are looked down upon in our society today.
I feel sad at times that anyone would see children as a burden instead of the way God sees children; as a blessing. I love and cherish all six of my children. The two in heaven, and the four that are with me today to raise up in a godly pure home. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Children born to a young man are like sharp arrows in a warrior's hands.
How happy is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates. Psalm 127:1-5

But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing [mother] cherishes her own children.

  • Paul the Apostle wanted to communicate his love for the people in Thessalonica by using a picture of motherhood. In this example the heart of the mother is as gentle as a mommy who is nursing her baby. My care for my children should have the same spirit of gentleness. Not raising my voice, or having high unreasonable expectations upon them, or treating them indifferent because of their personalities or ages. Affectionate motherhood with a balance of loving discipline will help them to see that I cherish and love them.

The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things—that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chast, homemakers, obedient to their husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
Titus 2:3-5

  • The responsibilities of the older women are to be respectful in their behavior, not gossipers, not a drunkard, and teachers of good things such as loving their husband and children.
    ·
  • This needs to be taught; otherwise the younger women will get their example from ungodly sources such as the TV and from their own parents who may have not followed the biblical guidelines for a godly family.
    ·
  • To be a homemaker is to manage the home. This can only be done in a godly fashion, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and by the blueprint and instruction Manuel of the Bible itself. Jesus is an example to the church as to what a family should be like. A mother’s influence and stability is the backbone of her family. Without mom instilling godly principals and habits within her children by example, they may not be guaranteed to have a relationship with God when they get older, and their own family may be doomed to fail in example of the mother’s influence and not Christ’s.
    ·
  • As a mother keeps these standards and guidelines of godly principals in her home. The home will be a safe haven for her husband and children. The family unit will be stable and there will be peace, harmony, and an example to the unbeliever that God is real and in control. There will be no room for the non-believer to blaspheme God.

Awesome! I love your answers and agree with what you've written. Dear to my heart are those older women who have been faithful to model godliness in both concept and practicality. Thanks for sharing!!
