I was talking today with a lady (who my friend laura knows) from our church who I am serving with during VBS. She had wisdom from the Lord as she spoke, along with a listening ear. I was explaining how I have been experiencing the suffering of the Christian life. I mentioned to her how I didn't have any best friends, and how I have suffered the path of loneliness. I also mentioned how I would not trade it for the world, and how I believe that God had great plans for me.
Well, I 've been thinking about what I was sharing, and so God directed me to look back at one of my devotionals for teens. I desire to share with young girls and women, so I'm in the process of writing out devotions. Yet I forget what God has ministered to me. And it was exactly what this sister from Church had shared with me.
I realise that I have 2 best friends.
Gabe & My Lord JESUS.
So here's the devo.
A lonely Road To The Masters Heart.
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; Philippians 3:10
Sometimes we may find ourselves in the midst of a crowd feeling very lonely. Sometimes we may find ourselves with no one to hang out with, or to connect with. It may seem as though life is passing you by. No one understands. Your parents are busy, your teachers are busy, and all seems faint through the eyes of this life. Take hope,You are not alone. Remember when Jesus sweated blood from his head as He prayed alone in the garden of Gethsemane while His disciples slept? Remember when The Father had to turn His back on Jesus because He could not look upon the sin that Jesus took upon Himself? There will be times where you will be alone, and where you will have to go through things by yourself. But you arenot alone. Jesus is with you always, and He wants you to understand what it means to walk by faith. He will not catch you right away when we fall because He wants us to learn to walk. Just like a Baby learning to walk, we learn to trust in Him. Jesus knows what it's like to be alone, yet He fulfilled His mission, and you to have a mission, to lead others to Jesus as you follow His example of Suffering for righteousness sake. If you take all of the lonely time and the lonely days and pray as our lord did in your garden of Gethsemane. Weather it be your room, a special place, or simply as you sit and watch people in need of Jesus. You can bring them to the Father without them fighting. And your reward will be rich in heaven. There is no more loneliness in heaven. You will be surprised to see the work that God did through you. But don’t despair, become weary, afraid, discouraged, or bitter. This life is not our home. We will never be comfortable here until we are with our best friend Jesus Forever. What He wants right now from you is to seek his face for friendship and companionship. Who cares what others may say. Go for it. Make Him your all.
Love,
Jannette
