Just a quicky

The other day I was reading through 2 Samuel in my One year Bible ( finished studying the life of Moses) and thinking about, Why King David had so many wives. 

Polygamy was a socially acceptable practice for kings at this time, although God specifically warned against it (Deut.17:14-17). Sadly, the numerous sons born to David's wives caused him great trouble. Rape(2 Sam. 13:14), murder(2 Sam.13:28), rebellion (2 Sam. 15:13), and greed (1 kings 1:5-6) all resulted from the jealous rivalries among the half brothers. Solomon, one of David's sons and his successor to the throne, also took many wives who eventually turned him away from God (1 kings 11:3-4).

 The descendants born from Abraham's two concubines (called the Children of the east) became Israel enemies. They are mentioned in (Judges 6:3,33,)where they are said to be very numerous.

In each life Where polygamy was present, there was also a lasting  consequences from the sin, even after the death of the person who committed the sin.

The Bible says that God will not be mocked. For whatever a man sow's, That will he reap. For he who sow's to the flesh, will of the flesh reap corruption. (Galatians 6:7)

Yes God will forgive any sin. But only when a person is willing to die to that sin. Cut it off, turn from it, forsake it. Will the repercussion of the sin go away? NO. Because once the sin is committed, then you can't turn back in time and change what has happened. I think of when my son had a grape. He was playing with the grape and suddenly squished it on accident. He then began to cry, " my grape is broken"!

There is hope. The Bible says thatGod works all things together for good, to those WHO LOVE HIM. He can work our lives out for His Glory. He is in the business of fixing broken lives. Only when a person is willing to give up and let Him become the Lord of their lives. Jesus is called Lord, not because it is just another title of His name, but because He is the way of life, the Truth of Life, He is Life and that more abundantly. (Ehph.3:20)

Mat 7:21	"Not all people who sound religious are really godly. They may refer to me as `Lord,' but they still won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in heaven.
Mat 7:22	On judgment day many will tell me, `Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.'
Mat 7:23	But I will reply, `I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were unauthorized.'
Mat 7:24	"Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

When the woman that was caught in the very act of adultery, Jesus did not condemn her, but rather, after saving her from death, said; Go and sin no more.

Jhn 8:1	Jesus returned to the Mount of Olives,
Jhn 8:2	but early the next morning he was back again at the Temple. A crowd soon gathered, and he sat down and taught them.
Jhn 8:3	As he was speaking, the teachers of religious law and Pharisees brought a woman they had caught in the act of adultery. They put her in front of the crowd.
Jhn 8:4	"Teacher," they said to Jesus, "this woman was caught in the very act of adultery.
Jhn 8:5	The law of Moses says to stone her. What do you say?"
Jhn 8:6	They were trying to trap him into saying something they could use against him, but Jesus stooped down and wrote in the dust with his finger.
Jhn 8:7	They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, "All right, stone her. But let those who have never sinned throw the first stones!"
Jhn 8:8	Then he stooped down again and wrote in the dust.
Jhn 8:9	When the accusers heard this, they slipped away one by one, beginning with the oldest, until only Jesus was left in the middle of the crowd with the woman.
Jhn 8:10	Then Jesus stood up again and said to her, "Where are your accusers? Didn't even one of them condemn you?"
Jhn 8:11	"No, Lord," she said. And Jesus said, "Neither do I. Go and sin no more."

Jhn 3:17	God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it.
Jhn 3:18	"There is no judgment awaiting those who trust him. But those who do not trust him have already been judged for not believing in the only Son of God.
Jhn 3:19	Their judgment is based on this fact: The light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.
Jhn 3:20	They hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness. They stay away from the light for fear their sins will be exposed and they will be punished.
Jhn 3:21	But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants."

Jesus goes out of His way to seek and save that which is lost. He has not come to save the righteous, but Sinners. Not those who say that they don't need a doctor, but the sick. The sick sinners that are in need of a savior, and a physician that will operate on their lives, their heart condition.

Mat 9:9	As Jesus was going down the road, he saw Matthew sitting at his tax-collection booth. "Come, be my disciple," Jesus said to him. So Matthew got up and followed him.
Mat 9:10	That night Matthew invited Jesus and his disciples to be his dinner guests, along with his fellow tax collectors and many other notorious sinners.
Mat 9:11	The Pharisees were indignant. "Why does your teacher eat with such scum?" they asked his disciples.
Mat 9:12	When he heard this, Jesus replied, "Healthy people don't need a doctor-sick people do."
Mat 9:13	Then he added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: `I want you to be merciful; I don't want your sacrifices. For I have come to call sinners, not those who think they are already good enough."
