A baby playful full of joy and laughter. A baby fixed on Ma Ma’s face. Her eyes focused on his wonderful features so soft and delicate. Ma Ma’s tears flowing down her cheeks like a stream into the Nile. As baby smiles she desires to hold and cuddle him once more. A time that would feel like eternity. The kisses of cherished memories smother his face.
But she knows that she must place him into the hands of God where he is secure. She prays a multitude of thoughts with a heart that feels as though it’s about to burst. She petitions for his future to be unlocked and graciously blessed.
Ma Ma tenderly puts her baby back into the basket with one last caress of his cheek and squeeze to his tiny foot. She closes the basket, ties it firmly, and rapidly pushes him away into Gods care. She hurries away in fear of hearing him whimper.
